The Mechanical Systems and Components (MS&C) Environmental Control Systems (ECS) organization has an immediate need for a System Engineer to work on various Air Transport, Regional, Business and Military aircraft. This position reports to the ECS Control Systems Integration Sr. Manager.

The selected individual will be responsible for applying technical systems engineering principles to all aspects of control system definition, design and integration in support of successful implementation and certification of ECS systems (Bleed Air, Air Conditioning, Vapor Cycle, etc.). This role includes interfacing within and across multiple Honeywell sites.

Key responsibilities:

+ System Requirements definition and validation analysis including architecture, functionality and dynamic performance.

+ Hardware and Software requirements definition and analysis including key characteristics and performance aspects, electrical and data bus interfaces

+ Development process coordination and handoffs between internal and external stakeholders, communication with chief engineering and technical management.

+ System Integration Test Support including facility architecture and requirements, test plans/procedures, test execution support and results review.

+ Control System Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) Analysis involving issue troubleshooting at the aircraft or system level and definition of robust solutions to identified test problems.

+ Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

+ 5+ years of aerospace systems, control development or hardware / software experience

+ Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements

+ Must be able to read, write and speak English


+ Some technical excellence and leadership. Proven track record of ability to produce robust technical solutions and achieve milestones on time and within budget.

+ Some systems engineering technical process experience (requirements validation and decomposition, ARP4754A or equivalent)

+ Some technical experience in control system design (closed loop control, logic definition)

+ Experience with air and thermal systems (pressure and flow management, heat transfer, reverse Brayton cycle)

+ Strong, effective verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to learn quickly and adapt to an environment with dynamic process and program needs
